Nash Promotes Reading

by Craig Davies | Friday 10 October 2008, 16:55

Carlo Nash has been answering questions on his new travel book at the Everton Study Centre.

Based at Goodison Park, the Centre hosted an afternoon where children from two local schools met the Blues keeper - as well as Liverpool Echo Sports Journalist, Dave Prentice.

The pair spoke about the benefits of reading from a young age.

Having recently published a volume on world travel, Nash was also keen to highlight the benefits of school children having role models who encourage reading.

Nash told evertonTV: "It's great to be involved with something where the kids can get information and things from someone they look up to.

"And if one person out of that class can be successful then it's worth the trip really."

The new book, ‘Honeymoons in Style', is the second volume to be published by Carlo and his wife Jill, who both wanted to share their passion for travelling.

"It's a passion," explained the Everton keeper. "We've enjoyed every trip we've taken over the last 8 years. We've been to 60 different countries and hopefully there's a lot more to come."

As well as his passion for travelling, the boyhood Blue was keen to discuss his love for Everton.

He added: "I'm loving every minute here, and hopefully I'll be here for a long time.

"I knew a few of the lads before I came in, and to settle in so quickly like I have is just great. It makes my life a lot easier."
