And Agbonlahor is hoping for a stormer in the play-off against Wales after missing out on Fabio Capello's squad. The Villa Park star confessed: "There are a few players at the Under-21s who will be disappointed not to be in the full squad. "Like them, I will be trying to prove a point in the games coming up to show I'm good enough for a call-up."

But O'Neill believes the Villa winger will benefit from a fortnight's rest before the hectic schedule facing the midlands club until Christmas. O'Neill said: "My own view is that I think there is time (with England) and I know he knows that. There is time to do these things and I don't think that he should worry unduly at this minute."
